Roads and embankments

Design, implementation and testing of infrastructure works

Geotea Srl carries out a consulting activity for the design, construction and final testing of infrastructures, road layers, embankments, river banks and service areas.

During the design phases at our geotechnical laboratory, authorised to the implementation and certification of tests on soil by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (Higher Council of Public Works - Central Technical Service), we can perform tests for soil classification (particle size analysis and Atterberg Limits) besides determining the initial lime consumption (CIC), methylene blue value and the content of organic substance and sulphates. These tests, as well as Proctor compaction and California Bearing Ratio (CBR), are necessary to study the mixtures that will be stabilized through concrete and lime.

During the construction, we are able to verify the compliance of the work by means of: Plate Load Tests (Φ 300 mm);tests to determine the “k” reaction module of the underlayer (plate Φ 760 mm); in situ density tests through sand volumometer; in situ hydraulic conductivity tests through Boutwell permeameter.

During all the phases of work, from the preliminary steps to the final testing, our professionals guarantee continuous assistance, consulting and efficiency in dealing with and solving the problems that may arise during construction.

Moreover, Geotea deals with the coordination of the procedures to ensure the health and safety of the workers in the design phase and during the construction of the civil engineering infrastructures. (Dlgs 81/2008 – Dlgs 106/2009).
