Seismic subsurface classification, measurement of soil resonance frequencies and seismic microzonation of the territory

Geotea Srl performs geophysical site investigation, aimed to seismic classification of the subsoil, direct measurement of the main resonance frequencies of soil and seismic micro-zoning of the territory.

The surveys we carry out consist of seismic profiles in array using MASW (Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves), Re.Mi. (Refraction Microtremor), ESAC (Extended Spatial Autocorrelation) techniques; single-station microtremor analysis HVSR (Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio) and seismic refraction profiles.

The instruments employed are: a 24 channel 24-bits seismograph with geophones from 4.5 Hz to 14 Hz and a digital tromograph Tromino Engy model.

Thanks to the data interpretation that Geotea runs through the use of specific software, the above listed surveys allow us to define the seismic category of the subsoil according to 3.2.II table of NTC 2018 (simplified approach).

After the earthquakes that have hit the country, the local seismic response analyses, performed by non-simplified numerical approach, have been particularly relevant. We carry out these analyses using the STRATA software (Equivalent-linear Earthquake Response Analyses site) with which we can also manage configurations not 1d subsoil.

In addition, with the use of the digital tromograph Tromino Engy model, we can perform analyses of the fundamental period of vibration on structures through technical SSR (Standard Spectral Ratio) and we can monitor severe vibration (UNI 9916 - DIN 4150-3).
